Each module is composed of several presentations. Each
presentation contains an introduction, an audio/slide presentation, a
list of resources, and a short evaluation form. Also available are links
to instructions for viewing the presentation, a printable outline (slides
and script), and a glossary.

Module 1: Orientation to Violence Prevention |
Orientation to Violence Prevention is a three-part
series designed to help violence prevention professionals become
acquainted with the key concepts of "primary prevention"—stopping
violence before it starts. At the completion of the module, you will
be able to:
- Describe primary prevention
- Describe the public health approach to violence prevention
- Describe how the socio-ecological model can be used to develop
primary violence prevention programs

Module 2: Scope of the Problem |
The scope of the problem module has five parts—Child Maltreatment, Suicide, Youth Violence, Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Violence. The module has been developed to provide a basic of overview of each type of violence for those who do not necessarily work in all of these areas:
Upon completion of the module, learners will be able to:
- Describe the types and scope of these different types of violence
- Describe the consequences of each type of violence
- Describe risk and protective factors at the individual, relationship, community and societal levels for each type of violence
- Describe interrelationship between different types of violence
- Describe selected promising practices in primary prevention
