Randomization: The
process through which individuals who are eligible for a study
are assigned in a random process to either a control group (which does
not receive the intervention) or an intervention group (which does receive
the intervention). See also Control group.
Relationships: A
person's family, friends and peers who have the potential to shape
a person's behaviors and range of experiences. See also Social
ecological model.
Resource assessment
(also referred to as an asset assessment): A
systematic examination of existing structures, programs and other activities
potentially available to assist in addressing identified
needs. See also Asset and Needs assessment.
Risk factors: Behaviors
or conditions that, based on scientific evidence, have been shown to increase
vulnerability to a specific condition or other behaviors.
